This day is a perfect introduction to building with earth for those who are considering building a house or a cottage, or for those who are thinking about using these techniques to remodel their existing home, building an oven or a courtyard wall.
You'll get hands-on experience in mixing cob and building a section of a wall with it. We will also demo how to install an earthen floor or how to apply an earthen plaster on just about every possible material, from straw bales to drywall. The light straw-clay technique will show you how to remodel an existing home (or garage) and also will give you some tools to start a new construction project that can be code approved.
There will be plenty of time for looking at cob buildings at the site and answering your questions We will end the evening with heating our earthen oven up to 900 degrees (!) and will let you taste some of the best pizzas. They only take 40 seconds to cook!
